New Healthcare Clinic opens to support and supply access and opportunity to an underserved population

Updated: Oct 16, 2024

[Medford, NJ] – Omega Networks is proud to announce the grand opening of Omega Physicians LLC, a specialized healthcare clinic dedicated to individuals leaving incarceration. Located at 103 Old Marlton Pike Suite 124 in Medford, NJ, our clinic aims to provide comprehensive, compassionate healthcare services tailored to the unique needs of individuals transitioning back into society.

Approximately 60% of individuals exiting correctional facilities and re-entering society face significant barriers to healthcare, including lack of access, stigma, and chronic health issues. Omega Networks recognizes these challenges and is committed to breaking down these barriers through a holistic approach to health and wellness.

Key Services Offered:

  • Primary Care: Comprehensive medical services to address acute and chronic conditions.

  • Mental Health Services: Counseling and therapy options to support emotional well-being.

  • Substance Abuse Treatment: Programs designed to assist with recovery and reintegration.

  • Preventative Care: Health screenings and education to promote long-term wellness.

  • Support Services: Resources for job placement, housing, and community integration.

“Our mission is to create a safe and welcoming environment where individuals seeking to re-enter society can receive the care they need without fear of judgment,” said Hemanth Rao, co-founder of Omega Networks “By providing tailored healthcare services, we aim to empower individuals on their journey to a healthier and more fulfilling life.”

Improving healthcare access with Medicaid’s general expansion in several states, has had a remarkable impact with an 11% drop in violent crime in these states. The National Bureau of Economic Research released a study showing that providing access to healthcare for this population directly reduced the level of violent and financially-motivated crime by 28%.

According to the Stanford Institute of Economic Policy Research, within two years of losing access to health care, those with a history of mental illness are more likely to be incarcerated. In addition, extending healthcare eligibility and access is a cost-effective way to reduce crime and criminal justice expenditures. There are several studies that show a return on investment of 6 months for every dollar spent on this population.

“Our main objective at Omega Networks is to make the communities we serve healthier and safer by taking care of the healthcare needs of individuals recently released from the criminal justice system” Rao concluded.

To celebrate the opening, Omega Networks will host a community open house on October 22nd, 2024, featuring tours of the facility, informational sessions about our services, and opportunities to meet our dedicated team of healthcare professionals. We invite the community to join us in this important initiative and learn more about how we can work together to support those in need.
